Pentagon labels Gay Kiss-In A 'Credible Threat'. See also here.

As in, a terrorist threat. The protest at UC-Santa Cruz, against the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy, was included among Pentagon records of 'suspicious' domestic groups. From the second link:

The database indicates that the Pentagon has been collecting information about protesters and their vehicles, looking for what they call a "significant connection" between incidents. Of the four "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" protests listed, only one - U-C Santa Cruz, where students staged a "gay kissing" demonstration - is classified as a "credible" threat.

Justice sought for NJ couple

They are the five Ocean County freeholders who denied lesbian cop Laurel Hester's request that her pension go to her partner Stacie Andree. Hester is dying of lung cancer, and her pension would allow Andree to keep the home they have shared. One of these guys, John Kelly, said earlier that granting Hester's request, and thus allowing Andree to keep their home, would "violate the sanctity of marriage."

There is a link to email and/or call the men responsible in the post.

Is the US becoming hostile to science?

A bitter debate about how to teach evolution in U.S. high schools is prompting a crisis of confidence among scientists, and some senior academics warn that science itself is under assault.

Stop Global Warming March
The Stop Global Warming Virtual March on Washington is a non-political effort to bring all Americans together in one place, proving there is a vast consensus that global warming is here now and it is time for our country to start addressing it. With the support of leading scientists, political and religious leaders, prominent Americans and concerned citizens, the Virtual March on Washington will move across the United States via the Internet from one town to the next, showing the evidence of global warming's alarming affects, and highlighting real people's concerns and real solutions along the way.

Evolution in the Bible

THE Vatican has issued a stout defence of Charles Darwin, voicing strong criticism of Christian fundamentalists who reject his theory of evolution and interpret the biblical account of creation literally.

A busy day in Houston... Oct. 20th, 2005 @ 06:35 pm

We've got two reasons to celebrate. For the first time in their 44-year history, the Astros are going to the World Series, and Tom DeLay was arrested.

DeLay Fingerprinted, Photographed and Released on Bail, from truthout.org. The Houston Chronicle also has a story about it.

The Truth about Ronnie Earle, the prosecuter.

From March 2005 Esquire--Who The Hell is Ronnie Earle?-- "He's a Texas lawman. Next question: Then why are House majority leader Tom Delay, the Republican party, and some of the biggest corporations in the country so afraid of him?"

DeLay's scheduled to appear in court tomorrow in Austin.

Excuse me while I go grab myself another beer. :D :D :D

So after this post this morning, I've been trying to find out more.

However, to leave no stone unturned --

Opinion, with possible fact: here Beginning last July, Supervisors for the FBI were gathered together in Miami (that center for terrorism, drugs, etc.) and informed of this fact. In August the FBI began recruiting agents to surf the web to locate what they defined as porn. The Porn Squad (constisting of 10 agents) became a funded group as of the fiscal year that began October 1, 2005.

It appears the Porn Squad has been told that the best possibility of prosecution includes golden showers, scat, beatiality, and bdsm along with other fringe fetishes.

More sites and info: here.

Including: nowthatsfuckedup.com where you can learn more about the webmaster's ongoing battle here: http://www.freechris.org/

Now as disturbing (or humorous) as it may be, a reason might be here where the FBI is considering lowering the anti-drug standards. (Great, a crackhead as president and now taking over the FBI?)

The Nexus of Politics and Terror (by MSNBC's Keith Olbermann)

Link (there are two videos there too, one of this package, and one of his following interview with Asa Hutchinson)

Last Thursday on Countdown, I referred to the latest terror threat - the reported bomb plot against the New York City subway system - in terms of its timing. President Bush's speech about the war on terror had come earlier the same day, as had the breaking news of the possible indictment of Karl Rove in the CIA leak investigation.

I suggested that in the last three years there had been about 13 similar coincidences - a political downturn for the administration, followed by a “terror event” - a change in alert status, an arrest, a warning.

We figured we’d better put that list of coincidences on the public record. We did so this evening on the television program, with ten of these examples. The other three are listed at the end of the main list, out of chronological order. The contraction was made purely for the sake of television timing considerations, and permitted us to get the live reaction of the former Undersecretary of Homeland Security, Asa Hutchinson.

We bring you these coincidences, reminding you, and ourselves here, that perhaps the simplest piece of wisdom in the world is called “the logical fallacy.” Just because Event “A” occurs, and then Event “B” occurs, that does not automatically mean that Event “A” caused Event “B."

The rest is behind hereCollapse )

LJ Link: Mr. Fitzgerald's pursuit now suggests he might be investigating not a narrow case on the leaking of the agent's name, but perhaps a broader conspiracy.

News Orgs Working On Stories Tying Cheney Into Plamegate… Developing…

The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg are working on stories that point to Vice President Dick Cheney as the target of special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald's investigation into the leaking of CIA operative Valerie Plame's name.
